In 1950 Mary Abbott (1921-2019) married Thomas Clyde, a private investor and amateur photographer. The couple lived in Southampton but traveled annually during the winter to Haiti and St. Croix, as well as other destinations from time to time. Tom regularly focused his viewfinder on his photogenic wife and he eventually compiled an album of black and white photographs, probably in the late 1950s. The book is a time capsule of Abbott’s life in the early days of her career and we have reproduced an edited version here with an introduction by Tom McCormick.
