This catalog accompanies the exhibition held at the gallery showcasing the recent work of Ben Herr. Herr cut his artistic teeth in Philadelphia in the early 1950s, studying with the likes of Franz Kline, Robert Motherwell and Melville Price. After a sixty year career of painting (but rarely exhibiting) we are excited to offer a selection of his recent work. This follows a successful retrospective at the Susquehanna Art Museum in 2009 and forthcoming shows at Franklin and Marshall College, the Demuth Museum, the Lancaster Museum of Art, Westchester University and the Woodmere Art Museum. Wonderful recognition for a wonderful artist!
