Born in 1921, American painter Mary Abbott was part of the New York art scene of the 1950’s, the epicenter of the Abstract Expressionist movement. Making the acquaintance of artists such as Robert Motherwell, David Hare and Barnett Newman, she adopted the principles of abstract expressionism and has created a stunning body of abstract work. Abbott is still working avidly as an artist and lives in New York City.
